25/01/2011 - 09.00h We interviewed the KF2 Spanish Champion.

1. Explain how you begin in karting.
One day, when I was 12 years old, I went with my father to Kartodrom Catalunya because he wanna test a friends kart, this summer I test a rental kart at Genís (Marcó) track in La Escala and immediately knew that it likes me. A few months later we buught a little second hand Yamaha 100 to participate at the social championship at Kartodrom Catalunya. It began like a hobby but after 3 years I made debut in an international race being 5th in Europe and 11th at the World Cup.

2. How was your first season in KF2 with the Kosmic Racing Team?
It was not easy, I had to adapt my way of racing to the new category, an oficial team, new cicuits, drivers with more experience and it was my first year at the WSK. But it helped me to understand how the karting world is and how behave in and out track if you want to be a winner driver. I think I enter at Kosmic as a crazy boy and now I'm a mature driver.

 

 

3. You have driven for SportKart and Kosmic, with what you would remain of each one?
Both are great teams. I'd very good times at SportKart, for sure is one of the best privat teams and I'very good relationship with the team and Gil family, I really love all them. They have ilusion and they encourage their young drivers. The Kosmic Team is another ambience, a factory team where relationship is much more cold. I have to heel the professionalism, discipline and oficial material.

4. You stayed at the same tent a Armand Convers in some races, what does contribute his experience to the team?
Armand is a great team mate nd a big driver, with a lot of experience. Always knows hat to do, when and how. He was the example to follow, discreet, hard-working, always there to answer any doubt to young drivers.

 

 

5. Do you expected to win the Spanish Championship at your very first season in KF2?
I began the year with the ilusion to be Spanish Champion but I knew that I should be cautious, first because I should learnt and knew th category, and second because  my rivals were really good drivers wthmre experience than me. I understood the category and won the championship at the second half of it with three wins at the last four races.

6. What you did since you won the championship?
Since last race at Motorland (Alcañiz) I stayed out of tracks. Now I'm preparing myaself physically for next season.

 

 

7. What do you think about your job in 2010?
Very positive, for the title and also because I have matured very much as a driver.

8. But not everything has been easy this season, which was the great disappointment?
The first half of the season. Difficulties of adjustment to a new official team very demanding, to a new category and more bad luck of the expected results in WSK, in the European and the World Championship. I have remained with the doubt of knowing what would have happened if the season had begun with half a year more of experience.

 

 

9. What is the more important thing that you have learned this year?
That "to finish first, first you've to finish", that races begin on Thursday, which it is necessary to concentrate to the maximum every free practice to stay very well prepared for the crono, that with a good crono you have half work made, which is not positive to win a heat if you do not end the following one. I have learned to use the head.

 

 

10. ¿Is your karting career ended? ¿Which areour plans for 2011?
My aim for this 2011 is to jump to silseaters. The moment is very difficult and it is difficult to have the budgets but I believe that I am going to obtain it. But I would like to complete the season having some karting races. I hope any team would be interested in my experience of 2010 counting with me to continue in the exciting world of karting.
